How can different disciplines come together to create livable cities for the future? This book collects contributions from the 2025 Side Event at the 10th United Nation Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in New York, organized by the School of Architecture and Design at New York Institute of Technology in collaboration with The Consulate General of Denmark in New York. It centers around the interdependency between health and design as well as the impact of environmental issues on health inequities. It is also connected to the Sustainable Development Goals’ ethos of leaving no one behind. Contributions provide both academic and practitioner insights, discuss resilient urban strategies, and propose new ways of creating experimental and collaborative knowledge leading to integrated actions. Combining local and global perspectives, research, and professional expertise, the aim is to foster renewed thinking and operational processes that can lead to healthier and more inclusive environments fostering at the same time sustainability and improved wellbeing for all.
