ABSTRACT

New data are reported on the gologic setting, structural relationships, and composition of calc-silicate metasomatites (rodingites) associated with alkali-ultramafic volcanics, which are exposed in the northern part of the Valaginsky Ridge, Eastern Kamchatka. Original conclusions were drawn regarding the general regularities of mineral composition of these high-temperature rodingites. Based on the new obtained data, the authors proposed the palingenic-metasomatic petrological model, which extends the thermodynamic range of rodingite genesis. The universal mechanism of calcium metasomatism in mafic-ultramafic complexes of different formational types is demionstrated
